Welcome to the Studio!

Hi, I’m Karen, a lifelong artist who finds joy in chasing light and color through paint. I paint flowers from life, working loosely and intuitively to capture nature’s fleeting beauty before it slips away.

My paintings often begin with something small — a bloom from the garden, a handful of stems from a friend, sunlight spilling across a table. From there, they take on a life of their own. I work with water-based mediums on Yupo paper, letting colors mingle and dance, following where the paint wants to go. Each piece is a love letter to nature’s wild edges and quiet surprises.

My art studio in Framingham, Massachusetts, is filled with light, flowers, and jars of brushes. Before that, I painted in Nashville, Tennessee, where I created large-scale murals celebrating local life and color. Wherever I am, painting is how I connect to the earth, to memory, and to joy.

Alongside my studio work, I create custom floral paintings for collectors and couples. Wedding bouquet commissions are one of my favorite ways to celebrate love, preserving those once-in-a-lifetime flowers in paint.

Inspiration

I’m endlessly inspired by the natural world, especially roses, peonies, blue asters, and sunflowers. I love to spot unexpected specks of color hiding inside forms. Painting is my way of following the edges of nature and finding moments of stillness and delight. There’s always a moment when light hits a petal just right — that’s the magic I try to catch before it fades. Thank you for visiting my little world of petals and paint.
